new thing. . . . .

Caroline can't sit in her pack and play anymore on the high setting. Today she started to pull up on the side of it. She didn't do it, but it crossed her mind. I know she can physically pull herself up, but before today she never tried it other than on me. My easy days of letting her sit in the middle of the room are coming to a close:( I am excited to see her in this new stage of exploration. It is pretty fascinating to see her brain cranking away.

Hanging out with friends and more. . . .

We went over to Aaron Reinberg's house the other day. We had a great time visiting. It was hard to get a good picture of everyone. Caroline just threw a fit right before the pic was taken.

Right now Caroline is into getting startled and laughing really hard. It is pretty funny. I always think I am being mean when I scare her, but then she giggles really hard and wants to play more. We are having a lot of fun playing with her!

She has a stuffy nose right now. We feel so bad for her b/c it is hard for her to breathe and she hates when we wipe her nose. I guess that is pretty normal.

new things

Well, Caroline drank from a cup today. This is a big step for the no- bottle no-sippy cup princess. I was pretty excited that she did this! I was starting to get a little worried. She is starting to have a lot of fun screaming and listening to her voice. She also loves the Bee Bop Band. It is a drum, symbols, a tambourine and a maraca. She loves to make noise. This particular band set is not very annoying b/c the sound is a little muted (thank goodness!). It is really cute and fun to play with her now.
She still hates tummy time, so she is in the roll over position before I even have a chance to put her on her tummy and then immediately rolls over. I guess she will learn sometime :)

Halloween

Caroline was a monkey for Halloween. We found the most awesome costume. Fortunately, it is a little big so we can still put her in it for laughs for the next couple of months.

6 month pics

We had some new pics taken of baby girl. She did a great job and was in a great mood the whole time. We were pretty lucky! Lately she has been so easy going. She is really enjoying playing now and likes to annoy poor Diego. He deserves everything she gives him, but she likes to pull his tail and fur. We are really watching them just to make sure he is behaving himself. She has started playing in the bathtub. She has been splashing for awhile, but not really playing like she is now. Now she enjoys watching her rubber duckie float around and plays with her stacking cups. It is really cute. Right now she does not mind water getting in her face. I hope it stays that way!!!

carrots and more

Here are a couple of pics with Jack Robert's Halloween bib on. Thanks for letting us borrow it Jack! Caroline loves her carrotts. On another note, we went to the doctor this past week. Caroline is doing great. She is in the 99th percentile for height, topping the charts at 28 and a half inches long, and 97th percentile for weight, weighing in at 19 lbs. 12 oz. As you can tell, she is growing quite nicely!!!

Caroline is getting such a personality now. She is a little spoiled, though. When somebody walks out of the room, she gets her feelings hurt, even if somebody is still paying attention to her. She needs all of the attention (and of course, we give it to her!) So, maybe it is our fault.

She is starting to talk a lot now, screaming actually. It kind of sounds like singing. Ian calls her Neetney Cuteston, after the great Whitney Houston. One of her nicknames is Neets, so that is now he came up with it. Don't ask how we came up with Neets. She seems to like it though.

I am really bad about keeping this blog current, so thanks for checking! Caroline is doing so many new things. She is reaching out when she wants to go to someone new. She is laughing at things other than just Diego. She enjoys a lot of different foods mixed with her rice cereal. Today Caroline was making a peace sign over and over and looking at it intensely. It was pretty funny. She is growing out of all of her clothes ahead of scheduled. Ian and I have to put her in size 18 months clothes so her legs will fit in them. We have an appointment in a couple of weeks to see how she is developing and where she falls on the curve as far as height and weight. We are expecting her to still be pretty high on the chart.

enjoying the weather

This child is too skinny! Just take a look at her! Anyway, she does enjoy her walks. Here we took an after dinner walk so she could test out her sunglasses. Don't worry, we were only in the sun for a few minutes.

new things

Caroline is now laughing. She kind of coughs when she laughs. Coughing is her signature sound. She coughs when she cries, and now when she laughs. She also does not like to lay down like a baby anymore when she is being held. It is only upright or sitting like a big girl on your lap. She likes to look around and watch Diego being crazy! She likes when I say goo goo gaa gaa to her. She thinks it is funny. She might be laughing at me thinking, "Why are you talking like that?"

Here are some 4th of July pictures at the Lake of the Ozarks. My mom, Diego, and Caroline wanted to be festive. We had a good time down there. It was cloudy most of the time, so it was perfect for Caroline's first trip to the lake.
